Hungry Possum Pizza

Hi My name is Shane Srhoj but I’m more commonly known as Mr. Possum

My wife and I had always wanting to own a pizza shop and when we found a cute little shop on Reservoir Rd we couldn’t pass up the opportunity.  There were plenty of people that were against the idea of buying a business that is as demanding as a pizza shop is but we were up to the challenge and it has turned out to be one of the best decisions that we have made.  My father laughed at the idea, and when he found out it was called “Hungry Possum” he laughed even more.

We started with the shop on Reservoir Rd in December 2005 and then we bought the Fish n chip shop next door which was named “Blue Seas Takeaway” but we never operated out it, we had leased it out until we were ready to move in. Gordonvale was the next location that we ventured to in July 2006, unfortunately it only lasted two years before eagle boys set their eyes on us.  The shop in Redlynch followed close behind the Gordinvale location and started operating in October 2006. 

Our shop in Redlynch was very successful for us and as the demand for good quality food in Redlynch was so high we believe that we met all challenges.  The Redlych store is no longer part of our hungry possum fleet, it is now operating under the name of “Happy Possum”. 

Hungry Possum Catering was born in January 2007 and was very slow to start but everything fell into place.  We currently have our mobile wood fired pizza oven on the Queensland Show circuit which spans from early May to late July.  In October 2007 it was time for us to move into the Fish and Chip shop so we could do our entire menu out of the one location.  

The past few years have been very exciting for my wife and I with the arrival of our three beautiful children.  To all our valued customers we thank you for your support over the last 4 years and we look forward to expanding our shop and catering business to keep bringing good quality food and an authentic taste to everyone.
